OBJECTIVE: I am seeking a summer internship in or near New Delhi, India. I am hoping that this internship may lead to a job in Delhi after I graduate in December. My fiancee is a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Embassy so I will have access to a work visa. For the summer, I am extremely flexible with regard to compensation, and most importantly seek experience in a position that will challenge me. As you can see below, I have a wide varity of experience in the public and private sector. I have outstanding written and communication skills and am a quick learn.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Youth Venture, Delaware Director (Previously Mid Atlantic Director).
       2001-Present. Washington, DC. and Newark, DE.
    • Helped lead expansion of Youth Venture from three full time staff members to over thiry with a critical partnership with the Corporation for National Service.
    • Responsible for all activities in the Mid Atlantic Region (from Philly to Richmond) including venture recruitment and development, Partner development, media outreach, and foundation solicitation
  • The White House, Associate Director of Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA).
       2000-2001. Washington, DC.
    • Responsible for responding to the concerns of, and promoting the President’s agenda to, Governors, Lt. Governors, State Legislators and other statewide elected officials.
    • Prepared weekly report for the President summarizing the activities of IGA.
  • Governor Tom Carper of Delaware, Legislative Assistant.
       1997-2000. Washington, DC.
    • Responsible for Environmental, Agricultural, International, Economic Development and Crime issues for the State.
    • Assembled Book of State's Federal Priorities to be given to the Congressional Delegation.
    • Assisted Gov. Carper with his education priorities as Chair of the National Governors' Association.
  • Maryland Bank of North America (MBNA) America, Summer Associate.
      Summer 1997.   Wilmington, DE and Camden, MN.
    • Rotated through different branches of the bank with their summer Management Development program.
    • Wrote proposal for education program in regional offices and presented it to the top executives at the bank.
  • Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Core Supervisor.
       Spring 1997.   Mostar, Bosnia.
    • Organized voter registration logistics for the 1997 elections in Mostar. Worked with the military and the local government to secure registration sites.
    • Interviewed, hired and managed 15 local drivers and 15 local interpreters and coordinated the efforts of 15 international voter registration supervisors.
    • Assisted the Regional Core Supervisor with the communication and the coordination of the field office.
  • Mladi Most, International Volunteer.
      Springs of 1996 and 1997.  Mostar, Bosnia.
    • Taught English to Bosniac, Croat, and Serb youth.
    • Organized conflict resolution activities for children from both sides of the divided city of Mostar.

  • 2100 Fund, Founder and Executive Director.

    • Founder of nonprofit foundation which raises money for charities by throwing parties (www.2100fund.org).
