Issues Page    TECHNOLOGY     Next Issue: Voting

There are many different ways why technology must be looked at when studying the politics of a generation. First, technology has created new sources of information that educate youth (see media). Second, technology has changed the way politicians campaign and try to get out the vote (see voting). Third, technology has empowered grass roots organizers and this positively affects young organizers. Fourth, and finally, there are a handful of legislative issues dealing directly with technology -- not the least of which is the Napster debate.
Millennials use Napster more than any other generation, however that does not mean they have uniform opinions on whether or not Napster is legal. In fact, many think it is stealing that needs to be addressed, few Millennials however feel the Courts or the Congress are capable of controlling the situation.
