Until September 11, 2001 our generation has grown up without fear and military conflict has been limited to technology-driven, casualty minimizing battles in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. But now our national security has been threatened by terrorist attacks and our generation will be defined by how we react.

The military has struggled to recruit Millennials into the Armed Forces despite an expensive advertising campaign. However, that does not necessarily mean that this generation will be less hawkish than generations in the past. In fact, with no memory of the horrors of war, it may be more likely that this generation will support overseas conflict.

This is especially true since we feel the need to defend our country.
