| WTO, NAFTA,
NATO, UN and the EU are all common acronyms that serve as reminders to how
interdependent our world has become and international our society is. We
define "internationalism" as an attitude favoring economic and political
cooperation among nations. We define globalism as "a negative world view
that power is being centralized among international organization that are
not accountable to or vested in your local community." |
| The WTO riots
and the protests across college campus against University apparel made by
sweat shop labor overseas is strong evidence of the international
awareness and concern in the generation. For some, it is their most
important political issue. |
|
| Ultimately this will be one
of the biggest political conflicts this generation will need to resolve.
Do we resist the tide towards internationalism and maintain 100% of our
local authority? Or, do we embrace the global trend and look for ways to
make it better? |

Please tell
us your thoughts about the generation's (& your personal) attitude
towards globalism. If
you have seen newspaper articles, or read interesting stats, then forward
them our way and we will be sure to include them in the book.
If you are a part of the
Millennial Generation, tell us if your world view is more "globalist" or
"internationalist." If you are not
a part of the Millennial Generation, tell us how the internationalism of
youth is different from when you were their age |
