| While the
environment has always been a popular issue among youth, it has taken on
a new urgency since the current President is less concerned about protecting
our country's natural resources. Indeed, Ralph Nader's presidential campaign
gained a lot of early support from environmentalist who felt even Al Gore
wasn't doing enough to keep our air and water clean. |
| Soon Congress
will be forced to debate the environmental policies of President Bush and
we'll see how engaged youth become to represent their point of view. Is
their a faith in the generation that technology fix the problems that pollution
creates, or is there a fear that the government is hurting the cause more
than they are helping it. |
