If there is one issue that youth really care about, it is Medicare! :-) Actually, entitlements are a huge political issue to which people under 25 usually don't pay attention. However, issues like Social Security and health care are important to youth today. This is particularly true since so many young Americans are without health insurance or an adequate retirement plan.

Some argue the solution to the "Social Security" problem is to privatize the system and let workers invest thier money in the stock market. They also suggest creating Associated Health Plans that are outside of State regulation and have lower premiums.

Others say that privatization would undermine the intent of Social Security and Associated Health Plans would raise insurance premiums. They argue these solutions only make matters worse. The only thing that seems clear is the generation is not paying attention to these issues even though they will affect them greatly in the future.
