Issues Page     CIVIL RIGHTS    Next Issue: Drugs

Civil Rights is the broadest issues we have on the web page. In the category of civil rights we include the very important issues of racial and ethnic discrimination, gender equality, the rights of homosexuals and protection of people with disabilities.
We believe that Millennials are not traditionally "liberal" or "conservative" when it comes to Civil Rights. We have found many young people to be against affirmative action (while not racist) and for homosexual marriages (even if not "pro"-gay). We beleive there is a strong sentiment for minority protection but against special rights.

Others say we are too optimistic about civil rights and while Universities are scaling back affirmative action programs and States are legislating against homosexuals the civil rights movement is losing the ground it made in the 1960s.
There is also an interesting issue about what does 9-11-01 mean for Civil Rights and the generation. Will young Americans treat Arab Americans better than older generations?

Go to the forum I have set up to discuss Civil Rights.
People of all ages are debating this issue on my site now. Become a part of the community!

Please tell us your thoughts about the generation's (& your personal) attitude towards civil rights. If you have seen newspaper articles, or read interesting stats, then forward them my way and we will be sure to include them in the book.
If you are a part of the Millennial Generation, tell us what you think about gay marriages, affirmative action, gender equality, and other hot-button civil rights issues.
If you are not part of the Millennial Generation, please tell us how you think the Civil Rights movement has changed over time.
